  • Female Infertility and Reproductive Disorders: Essential for evaluating ovarian function, follicular development, and overall estrogen production in women struggling to conceive, and crucial for guiding and monitoring assisted reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).
  • Menstrual Irregularities: Helps pinpoint hormonal causes behind conditions like amenorrhea (absence of menstruation), oligomenorrhea (infrequent menstruation), or abnormal uterine bleeding, indicating potential imbalances in the ovarian-pituitary axis.

In such cases, an alternate, non-interfering method like Estradiol, Sensitive, LC/MS may be recommended. Estradiol levels can fluctuate significantly, especially during perimenopause, and results from different assay methods should not be used interchangeably for serial monitoring. Always ensure the same methodology is used for consistent tracking of your levels.

Rarely, interference due to extremely high titers of antibodies to streptavidin and ruthenium, or from samples taken from patients treated with monoclonal mouse antibodies, may occur. The test contains additives designed to minimize these effects.
